Catherine Berry Obituary

QUINCY Catherine E. Berry, age 92, died Sunday, August 31, 2008, at the Colonial Nursing Home in Weymouth in the loving care of the staff and her family. Catherine was born in Quincy, February 18, 1916. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Mabel Schofield. She lived in Quincy all her life. Catherine was the beloved wife of the late Alond C. Berry and the mother of four children: Judtih Pitts of Braintree, Barbara Paine of Marshfield, Richard Berry of Quincy and the late Dorothy Barry of Holbrook. Catherine had 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She loved them all and they loved her back, calling her Cookie Nana, because of her wonderful decorated sugar cookies. Catherine loved her garden, walking, swimming and spending time with her family and friends. She loved sports and always followed the Quincy Football team and the Red Sox. Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home, 26 Adams St., Quincy Center on Wednesday, September 3rd from 4 to 8 P.M. and the Funeral Service in her name in Christ Church Episcopal, 12 Quincy Avenue, Quincy on Thursday, September 4th at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be at the Braintree Cemetery, Braintree. Those who wish to remember Catherine may make a donation in her name to the Organ Fund at Christ Church Episcopal in Quincy.
