Francis Tucci Obituary

Francis A. Tucci WEYMOUTH Francis A. Fran Tucci, a lifelong resident of Weymouth and a summer and weekend resident of his camp in Cedarville, died on Tuesday at Radius Healthcare in Plymouth. He was 77 years of age. After graduating from Weymouth High School, Fran served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Mass Auto Body Assoc., a licensed appraiser and he was the former owner of South Shore Auto Body and Tuccis Auto Body in North Weymouth. Fran was also an antique dealer, a licensed auctioneer and owner of Bridge Antiques in North Weymouth. He was very active in the town of Weymouth. He served as a Town Meeting Member, the Democratic Town Committee where he was elected 2008 Democrat of the Year and was co-chairman of the Weymouth Veterans Council. He was also a delegate to the Democratic State Convention. Fran was Past Commander of the VFW Post #9260 and American Legion, George Bean Post #79. He was chairman and a founder of the Korean War Memorial Committee, the Permanent Wall and the Permanent Memorial Committee. He was a charter and life member of the Weymouth Elks, a member of the Sons of Italy, the Lions Club and the Sons of the American Legion. He was president of the Board of Directors of the North Weymouth Cemetery Assoc. and was past president of the North Weymouth Business Assoc. He volunteered for the South Shore and Cranberry Hospice Programs and he was a corporator at the South Shore Savings Bank. He enjoyed yard sales, veterans activities, traveling to Foxwoods and feeding the wildlife in Cedarville. Beloved husband of 56 years to Nancy (Pugliesi) Tucci. Father of Annemarie Kelley of Plymouth and the late Arthur F. Tucci. Brother of Joseph of FL, Charles of Weymouth, Donald of Sandwich, Mildred Scheel of IA, Dorothy Monroe of FL, Shirley Wall of Hanover, the late John and the late Rosalie Tucci. Proud grandfather of Jacqueline Kelley of Plymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the NORTH WEYMOUTH, McDonald Funeral Home, 40 Sea St. (off Rte 3A at Bicknell Sq.) Saturday at 8:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow in the Sacred Heart Church, Weymouth Landing at 9:30. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday evening 4:00-8:00 p.m. Interment Old North Cemetery, Weymouth Heights. Annemarie,
My heart goes out to you. You've always had a full plate and I know you will make it through this as well. My father Nat Austin and My mother Georgia were long time friends of Fran’s. Are you keeping the cobalt bottle? (I hope you chuckled at that one!) Mom was telling me that she knew Fran before she knew my father - at Fred Amirault's garage on Bridge Street.
