Edward Dalto Obituary

Edward P. Dalto WEYMOUTH Edward P. Dalto, a lifelong resident of Weymouth died at home on Saturday, September 13, 2008. He was 80 years of age. He was a retired employee of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., Control Data Corp. and the Medical Information Bureau. He served in the U.S. Navy and graduated from the U.S. Naval Pilot School in Pensacola, FL. In 1944 he was a member of the Weymouth High School Football State Championship Team and in 1945 he became captain of the team. He graduated Valedictorian from Weymouth High School. He also attended Worcester Poly Technical Institute. He was a member of the Weymouth Sons of Italy Giuseppe Verdi Lodge #278 and was Venerable in 1964 and elected Man of the Year in 1984. In 2002, he was inducted into the Weymouth High School Hall of Fame. Among his interests, he was an avid golfer and was a member of the Hole in One Club. He also enjoyed wintering in Naples, FL. Beloved husband of 58 years of Florence T. (Kinsley) Dalto. Devoted father of Edward A. Dalto and his wife Joan of Randolph, Thomas A. Dalto and his wife Anne of Braintree and Anne E. Proctor and her husband Glen of Wallingford, CT. Brother of Joan Curran and her husband Joseph of North Weymouth and the late Joseph Dalto. Loving grandfather of Mary Beth and Jennifer Dalto and David and Gerry Proctor. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea St. (off Rte 3-A) Wednesday at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Jeromes Church, North Weymouth at 10:00 oclock. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00 8:00 p.m. Interment, St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Weymouth.
