Sylvia Sforza Obituary

WEYMOUTH Sylvia (Merluzzo) Sforza, a lifelong resident of Weymouth, died Saturday September 13, 2008 at her home. She was 88. Mrs. Sforza was the beloved wife of the late Armando Normie Sforza and loving mother of the late Barbara Phillips. Born in Weymouth on April 13, 1920, Mrs. Sforza was the daughter of the late Ralph and Angelina (Costanzo) Merluzzo. She was a graduate of Weymouth High School. Mrs. Sforza worked as a homemaker and is lovingly remembered as being a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by her granddaughter Tracy Antonowicz and her husband Dennis, her grandson Toby Phillips, her great-grandson Anthony Phillips and her sister Josephine Merluzzo all of Weymouth. Funeral services and burial will be held privately in Mount Wollaston Cemetery, Quincy. Donations in Sylvias memory may be made to American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701 or Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Dr., Braintree, MA 02184. Funeral arrangements are through the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy.
