Heather Smith PROVIDENCE, RI Heather Ann Smith, age 25 of Providence, RI, formerly of Weymouth passed away by an auto accident in No. Attleboro September 13, 2008. Heather was born, raised and educated in Weymouth and a resident of Providence, RI for the past 2 years. Graduate of Weymouth High School class of 2001. She was a Sous Chef with McCormick & Schmidt Restaurant in the Biltmore, Providence, R.I. for the past 2 years. She enjoyed visiting Foxwoods. Loving daughter of Mary (Smith) Ahern and William Ahern of Weymouth. Devoted mother of Michael Sampson Jr. of R.I. Loving sister of Rebbeca Smith and Joshua Ahern both of Weymouth. Granddaughter of Joan Ahern of Weymouth and the late Francis Ahern and the late Robert and Mary Smith of Weymouth. Daughter of Brian Gibson of Brockton. Dear friend of Michael Cole of R.I. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Funeral Prayer Service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, NO. WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea St. (off Rt. 3-A at Bicknell Sq.) Saturday 9/20/08 at 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at a later date. Please accept my deepest sympathy for the sudden loss of your beloved daughter, Heather Ann Smith. Although, I did not know her, I also suddenly lost my son, Gregory K. Porter, in an automobile accident in Hingham on Wednesday, July 23, 2008. I found assistance with The Compassionate Friends, a non denominational support group of other people who have lost a son or daughter or a brother or sister. A local chapter of this group meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM in the Parish House of St. Paul’s Church, 20 Fearing Rd., Hingham, MA.
