Barbara Coughlin Obituary

Barbara M. Coughlin SCITUATE Barbara M. (Connolly) Coughlin left this earth surrounded by her loving husband and children at her home on September 22. Born in Boston, she grew up in So. Boston and lived in Mattapan for many years, prior to her move to Scituate 30 years ago. A devoted member of the Catholic Church, Mrs. Coughlin attended Northeastern University and was a former medical secretary at the Carney Hospital, Dorchester. She is survived by her beloved husband, of 55 years, Richard A. Coughlin of Scituate, her devoted children; Marian and Thomas Fitzgerald, Susan and Brian Murray, Shelly and Steven OBrien, Barbara E. Coughlin, all of Scituate, Nancy and Michael Taus of Marthas Vineyard, Karen and Harold Diemer of Hull, Jodi and Jay Craft of Hanover, Billy and Laura of Weymouth, Richard J. of Dorchester, Mark and Michelle of Hingham, Jay and Kate of CA, her daughterin-law Cathy Coughlin of FL, 23 grandchildren and one great grand-daughter. She was the mother of the late Jack and Dennis and mother-in-law of the late Debbie Coughlin. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Church, Cohasset, Friday, at 11 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Avenue, Milton, Thursday 3 to 8 p.m. Interment in Cudworth Cemetery, Scituate.
