Alfred Diaute Obituary

WEYMOUTH Alfred A. Diaute, 85 years of age, passed away at the South Shore Hospital on Wednesday. He was born in Braintree. He received his education in Maine schools and later attended the University of New Hampshire. He served in the Army Air Corps. during WW II. He began his working career as a cabinet maker then was employed at the Fore River Shipyard, Quincy where he was a welder and also a builder of model ships for ship design. For a number of years he worked with his brothers at Diaute Brothers Ornamental Iron Company in Braintree. In his early years he was a musician playing saxophone and clarinet in a band in Boston. He is survived by his wife Diane E. (Taylor) Diaute; a daughter: Rhonda Engelking married to Larry Engelking of Westborough; a son: Stephen A. Diaute married to Nanette Diaute of Dedham; and a stepson: Peter M. Daly of Weymouth. He is survived by two brothers: Richard Diaute of Braintree and Daniel Diaute of Hingham and two sisters Josephine Crawford of Braintree and Madeline Habicht of Vista, California. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Derek, Jared and Kelley Engelking. The services will be private. Arrangements are by the Mortimer N. Peck - Russell Peck Funeral Home, 870 Broad Street, WEYMOUTH. Visiting hours are omitted. Memorial donations may be sent to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Avenue, Suite 2, Norwood, MA 02062 or to The American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was such sweet man. I looked forward to seeing him every M-W F as he always brightened my day. He will be sorely missed by all the staff and patients at Quality Care Dialysis. I will always remember his smile and wonderful sense of humor. Please take care during this very sad time.

Mrs. Diaute and Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Al was such a great guy. I got to know him pretty well at dialysis and I always enjoyed taking care of him. He had a great sense of humor and he brightened the day for the other patients. He will be sadly missed. I'm so sorry, you will be in my prayers.
