Edward Redfield Obituary

PEMBROKE Edward H. Redfield, age 90, of, Pembroke, MA, died Saturday, September 27, 2008 at Newfield House, Plymouth, MA. Edward was born July 4, 1918 in Highland Park, NJ the son of the late Norton Redfield and the late Mary (Pendergast) Redfield. He graduated New Brunswick High School, New Brunswick, NJ and then Graduated Rider University, Trenton, NJ. With a degree in Accounting. He started his career with American Cyanamid Co. and at the time of his retirement in 1976, held a position of Controller for Arizona Chemical Co., Wayne, NJ. He was married to the late Georgia Richards Redfield for 57 years. Edward was a former 56 year resident of Goshen, NY and moved to The Village at Duxbury in Duxbury, Mass. in 2001. He served in the Army from 1941 to 1945 during World War II, Serving with the 27th Infantry Division. He received the Bronze Star for Meritorious Service on the Island of Saipan in July, 1944, He also received the Combat Infantrymans Badge. Edward is survived by son Richard E. Redfield and his wife Sonia of Laurel, MD.; daughter Georgia R. Kepner and her husband Dr. George Kepner of Pembroke, MA.; 2 grandchildren John F. Kepner of Stamford, CT and Kristiane E. Kepner of Hoboken, NJ. The funeral will be held on Wednesday October 1, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church Of Goshen, 33 Park Pl., Goshen, NY with Pastor David Kingsley officiating. Burial will be in Slate Hill Cemetery, Goshen, NY. Contibutions in Edwards name may be made to the - Lewy Body Dementia Association, P.O. Box #451429, Atlanta, Georgia 31145-9429. Mr. Redfield,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific fighting the Japanese during WW II as a member of the 27th Inf. Div-especially at Saipan-one of the bloodiest battles in the Pacific. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
