Jean A. Martin

HINGHAM Jean A. (Murphy) Martin of Hingham, October 29, 2008. Beloved wife of the late John Martin. Loving mother of Jay Martin of OH, Leo Martin of Plymouth, Peter Martin of Carver, Anita Sullivan of Holbrook, Susan McHugh of Scituate, Gerard Martin of Carver, Catherine Martin of Kingston, Elizabeth McDaid of Hingham, Marie Martin-Fluet of Leominster and the late Joanne Martin-Robinson. Sister of the late Leona Rooney and Robert Murphy. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Jean's life centered around her entire family. She was involved in all their activities and attended all their events, including the grandchildren's. She operated a daycare in her home for children with Down's Syndrome. She also sponsored a child from the METCO program with the Hingham Public Schools. She loved to read, knit, travel and attend many of her church events. Mrs. Martin will be remembered for her sociable, jovial and gregarious personality. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St., Hingham, Monday at 9:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Church of the Resurrection, Hingham at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Sunday 2- 6 PM. Burial in Saint Paul's Cemetery, Hingham.
