George Tirrell Obituary

MARINA BAY George L. Tirrell, age 85, of Marina Bay, formerly of Squantum, died Friday, October 31, 2008 at the Marina Bay Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Beloved husband for sixty-three years of Doris E. (Cochrane) Tirrell. Devoted father of Maureen Glynn and her husband Frank of Marina Bay, Judy Hemingway and her husband Richard of Hull. Loving grandfather of John M. Burke, Jr. and his wife Kimberley Parker Burke of Quincy. Brother of Eugene Tirrell of Avon formerly of Quincy, Donald Golden of Squantum, Charlotte Clasby of Avon, Mary McKenzie of NJ, Phyllis Carista of New York, the late Thomas Tirrell and the late Gertrude Tirrell. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Wednesday, November 5 at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 oclock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4 8 p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. For those who wish, donations in Mr. Tirrells memory may be made to Saint Jude Childrens Research Hospital, 501 Saint Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
