Joan Robbins Obituary

PLYMOUTH Joan W. (Thissell) Robbins, of Plymouth, November 2nd, 69. Beloved wife of Jerry Robbins. Mother of Richard "Rick" Robbins and his wife Charlene of Plymouth. Sister of David Thissell and his wife Joanne of Plymouth, Bernice "Bunny Ann" Tracy and her husband Ralph of FL and the late Donald Thissell and Cindy Moore. She also leaves 2 grandchildren, Sean and Christopher Robbins and several nieces and nephews. Born in Cohasset to the late Walter and Ruth (Wyand) Thissell, Joan moved to Plymouth in 1951 and graduated in 1957 from Plymouth High School. She was a telephone operator for AT & T and Nynex, was former co-owner of Mayflower Ceramics where she was a certified teacher. She was involved with other arts and crafts including jewelry making and knitting. She enjoyed sports aircraft flying and more recently hot air balloon flying when vacationing in Vermont. She also did cleaning for the Old Colony Club and cooking for the Plymouth Aero Club where she was also a member. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 6th at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 373 Court St., N. Plymouth from 6-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 7th at 10 oclock at the Church of the Pilgrimage, Town Square, Plymouth. Burial at the Vine Hills Cemetery in Plymouth. Donations in her memory may be made to the Jordan Hospital Cancer Ctr., 275 Sandwich St., Plymouth, MA 02360. On-line condolences may be made at richarddavisfuneralhome.com

Dear Jerry, Rick and Family,
Our deepest sympathy for your loss. Joan was such a wonderful vibrant person who was much loved and respected by all who knew her. She will be remembered and missed as a good, kind and joyful friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
