Alan Kilmurray Obituary

Alan Kilmurray BOZEMAN, MT Alan Kilmurray, 54, of Bozeman, passed away at home on October 17, 2008 of a heart attack. He was born December 9, 1953 in Braintree, Massachusetts, a son to Earl and the late Helen (Dalton) Kilmurray. He was raised in Weymouth, MA and graduated from Weymouth South High School. He worked for a catering business on Cape Cod in high school and loved working on large clam bakes and other events. He then traveled the country and fell in love with Montana. He was a chef by trad e most of his life working at Chico Hot Springs and the Baxter Hotel as the food and beverage manager. Alan loved to lead catering events for Chico and the Baxter including weddings, political fundraisers and film premiers. Most currently, he worked as a foreman for the Jones Painting Company. Alan married Victoria Brailsford, with whom he had two children: Juliana, now 15 and Nicholas, 14. The couple later divorced, but remained lifelong friends and partners in the care of their children. Alan enjoyed golf, skiing, hiking, camping, cooking and spending time with his children. A lifelong Boston sports fan, he was a devoted Red Sox and Patriots fan. He will be remembered for his generous and giving spirit, his dry sense of humor, strong work ethic and kind heart. He was preceded in death by his mother Helen and his younger brother John. Survivors include his daughter Juliana, his son Nicholas; his former wife Victoria Brailsford, all of Bozeman; his father Earl Kilmurray of Weymouth, MA, his sister Christine Kilmurray of Pembroke, MA; two brothers Kevin of Braintree, MA, and David of Weymouth; and niece and nephew Colleen and Jonathan Kilmurray of Weymouth. A memorial service will b e held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, November 8, 2008, at his sisters home, at 60 Summer Path Way (off W. Elm), Pembroke, MA. Memorials may be made in his name to the American Cancer Society, 550 N. 31st. St., Suite 103, Billings, MT 59101. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.dahlcares.com.

Sorry to hear of Alan's passing. It has been many years since I last saw him. I do have many good memories of times in Weymouth. I will make sure that I E-mail my brother he will be shocked .They were the first Weymouth boys to head to Montana. My prayers are with your family.
