Edward Radcliffe Obituary

QUINCY Edward P. of Quincy died November 8, 2008. Beloved husband of Margareta P. (Weverink) Radcliffe of Quincy. Beloved father of Diane M. Fratolillo of Quincy, William T. Radcliffe of Quincy, and the late Edward P. Radcliffe, Jr. Loving brother of Louise Dockray of Cocoa Beach, FL and the late Loraine Nee, Lillian Sheehan, Dorothy Haley, Russell, Thomas, and John Radcliffe. Cherished grandfather of Thomas, Matthew, Benjamin, and Taylor, and great grandfather of Matthew. Ed is also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Ed was an Electrician and a proud member of the I.B.E.W. Local Union 103 for 62 years. He also proudly served during WWII with the U.S. Navy Seabees. Ed was a member of the Houghs Neck American Legion Post #380. Ed was the type of man that would do anything for anyone. He enjoyed fishing and boating, taking trips to Foxwoods, and spending time with his grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., QUINCY, Wednesday at 10:15 AM. Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Donations in memory of Edward P. Mr. Radcliffe,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the U.S. Naval Construction Battalions during WW II. The men who served in the Seabees were some of the unsung heroes of the War-they built advanced bases, airfields and naval anchorages and when they had to-they were ready to put down their tools and pick up a weapon and fight. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
