Ernest Gaudreau Obituary

WHITMAN Ernest E. Gaudreau, of Whitman, formerly of Hough's Neck, passed away at Port Healthcare in Newburyport on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at age 88. Born in Somerville, he was raised and educated in Quincy and lived for the past 50 years in Whitman. A WWII Army vet, Ernie played in the US Army Corps band. He was a professional musician and member of the Boston, Cape Cod & Brockton Musician's Union, playing the tenor saxophone and clarinet at clubs and private parties. He was also co-owner of Teltron Engineering of Stoughton. The beloved husband of Barbara J. (Comeau) Gaudreau, Ernie is the beloved father of Gloria Huntington and Susan Melvin and her husband Brendan Melvin, all of Newburyport and David Gaudreau of Whitman, the loving grandfather of Christian Dunbar and Liam Melvin and the beloved brother of Louis Gaudreau and Alfred Cappellini, both of Weymouth and Linda Pizzi of Braintree. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, November 12 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St., Quincy Center. A Funeral Service will be conducted at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are invited. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.
