Linda Meehan Obituary

Linda Meehan CHICOPEE Linda M. Meehan died peacefully on Monday, November 10 at Hospice of the Fisher Home of Amherst, with her family by her side. Born in South Weymouth, MA on February 25, 1956, she was the daughter of John and the late Jane (Raymond) Clough of Harwich, MA. She grew up in Rockland and lived in Marshfield and Quincy before relocating to Chicopee in 1987. She was a graduate of Bridgewater State College in 1978. She was a communicant of St. Marys Church in the Willamansett section of Chicopee. Linda was employed as a supervisor for the past ten years by the Christmas Tree Shops in Holyoke. She cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, enjoyed her trips to Foxwoods and Redsox baseball. Linda will be deeply missed by her longtime friend with whom she lived, Stephen Rule of Belchertown, her three loving daughters, Theresa Lavoie and her husband Joseph of Chicopee, Veronica of Chicopee and Kathleen of Belchertown and two grandchildren, Travis and Kenley. Her sister Paula Clough of Marshfield, brothers, John and his wife Margaret of Whitman, MA and David of Marshfield, along with her dear friend, HelenMary Francis of Huntington, MA also survive her. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Fisher House for their extraordinary compassion and care for Linda. Funeral services will be on Friday at 8:45 a.m. from the Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home, 646 Newton St., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Marys Church at 10:00 a.m. Calling hours are Thursday from 4 7 p.m. Memorial donations in Lindas name may be made to the Hospice of the Fisher Home, 1165 North Pleasant St., Amherst, MA 01002 or VNA & Hospice of Cooley Dickinson, 168 Industrial Drive, Northampton, MA 01060.
