Robert Turell Obituary

Robert Walter Turell WEYMOUTH Robert W. Turell, a retired Boston Edison employee, died on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at his home in Weymouth. He was 76 years of age. Born, raised and educated in Boston, he had lived in Weymouth since 1960. He served in the U.S.Air Force and was a Purple Heart recipient of the Korean War. Mr. Turell had worked at Boston Edison for 37 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus #5027 in South Weymouth, he was an avid golfer and was a lifetime loyal fan of all Boston sports teams. Beloved husband of 52 years to Elizabeth Betty (Croak) Turell. Devoted father of Maura J. Briody married to Thomas of Quincy and Jeffrey Robert Turell married to Amy of Dedham. Loving brother of Kathryn Graham married to Paul of Braintree and John Turell of Cambridge. Proud grandfather of Kyle, Samantha, Caitlyn and Cameron. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the McDonald Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH, at 809 Main St. (Rte 18 opp. South Shore Hospital) Monday at 9:00 a.m. Funeral Mass to follow in the St. Francis Xavier Church at 10:00. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday afternoon 2:00-6:00 p.m. Interment Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. Mr. Turell,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USAF during the Korean War. Because of you and your fellow servicemen standing up to the Communist North Koreans and Chinese, millions of South Koreans were able to live in freedom and proseperity and make their country one of the most industrious of the Free World. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
