We met Joan at Stodder's Neck the dog park in Hingham. Through the years we got to know her and Toby. She was a good friend not only to us but to Sam, our German Shepherd, who dearly needed her friendship. I hope Joan and Sam are having some good laughs together is heaven. We miss them both.

I consider Joannie a member of my extended family in MA. She was quick with a friendly comment, a quip and an adoring comment about her Sox, Pats or O'Donnell. She'd bring loads of goodies to every party and, usually, her "liver bits" cause I hated them so much! She is loved and missed!!!!!

We are sorry for your loss. Joan was a great neighbor and also a great person. We will miss seeing and talking with her over the fence.

I was saddened to read of Joan's passing. Our paths have crossed repeatedly throughout her career, first encounter was at the Little Red School house where she was my first Phs ed teacher...then at the Whitman school and again as my track coach on that first Brockton High School's woman's track team! A few years later we were teaching together at many schools...not to mention socializing after hours..We all had many laughs and good times...We will never forget what a wonderful cook she was. Joan would frequently cook our lunches on Friday at St Colman's School...homemade soups and breads and appetizers..Many of us still use some of her recipes...She touched so many lives in such a positive way. She deserves to be in heaven especially for all the good hearted ribbing and abuse she took from her favorite guys...Joe, Bruce, Frank, Paul, and Dick. I'll remember her bringing her beloved dog to school Always together. She will be missed...gone..but not forgotten.
With fond remembrance.....

Joan was a dear friend and the best Phys ed teacher St. Colman's elementary school had. She kept the staff well fed, made us laugh, and was a part of the social life that kept us all friends for so long. She will be missed.

Thes best thing I can say was that she was a member of our family. There will be an empty place in our gatherings from now on.
We will miss her.

I will always remember Joannie, particularly the last time I saw her at Harry and Janet's. She shared a DVD of Daniel O'Donnell and swooned like a teenager. She was a wonderful person.
