I just found out about Mary passing.
I grew up on Newport St. across the street from the Carney's. My Grandmother lived on the first floor, the Carney's on the third. I left Dorchester to join the Marines at the age of seventeen (1958) but all the Newport St. memories are still with me.To Mary's family May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Mr. Collins, Cathy and Maryellen,
I think of Mrs. Collins with fond memories from my childhood. She always had a smile and a funny story to tell. She was alway "Mrs. Cunningham" to me. (And just to set the record straight I was not responsible for Cathy getting in trouble when we were kids. It was usually CATHY'S idea and I just went along with it! ) When I got married Mrs. Collins gave me a beautiful bible which I now use often and treasure. I always admired the great love that was so obvious between Mr. and Mrs. Collins and I know that love is stonger than death.
With love and empathy,
Karen

Dear Donny, Cathy and Mary Ellen,

We are so saddened by Mary's passing and your loss. I always picture Mary at family functions being bubbly, talking and laughing. She was always so interested in what was happening in your life. I'm sure she is now enjoying being with all the family angels who have gone before her. Keep her in your thoughts and her memory alive. With sympathy, Earl, Peggy (Kane) and Megan Collins, Aurora, Colorado

MaryEllen and family - You are in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. I have such nice memories of all the times Mrs. Collins opened her home to us rowdy kids with never a complaint. She was a wonderful woman who leaves a beautiful legacy to her girls and grandchildren.

Dear Mary,
They say its a beautiful journey
From the old world to the new
Some day we will take that journey
To the staircase that leads to you
And when we reach that garden
Where all are free from pain
We'll put our arms around each other
And never part again.
Sadly missed and always lovingly remembered,
Jack, Dea and family.

ONE OF 'OUR' FAVORITE PRAYERS...

Oh Angel of God
My Guardian Dear
To Whom God's Love
Commits Me Here
Ever This Night
Be At My Side
To Light and Guard
To Rule and Guide
Amen

Thank you for teaching me this prayer when I was young, it helped you and I tremendously this past couple of weeks didn't it.

This prayer will be in our family for generations to come BECAUSE OF YOU MOM! You'll always be with us, love forever, Cath
