Dear Peggy and all the Ryan family,

Your Mom has been part of my life since 1963! Wherever we’ve lived (NY, Texas) the Kitchen Madonna your Mom made in ceramics for my bridal shower (initialed “D.R. ’76” on the bottom) has had a special place in my kitchen as a reminder of a very special lady! I’m sure she’s smiling down at us all now in perfect happiness with God and your Dad. Our love to you all.

Dear Sharon,

Words cannot describe Doris.Perhaps the best way to put it is that from the first time I met her I missed my mother that much more because she exemplified all that a Mom should be. I will always remember us joking over her lemonade and apologizing for not having appetizers in her motel room at the Holy Cross graduation so she could offer us a snack. The world has lost a great woman and you have lost a wonderful mother. May the memory of her jokes and laughter help you through this time. Love, Lauren(Salters)Gillenwater

To all the Ryan's...
We were so sad to here about the
passing of Doris. She was a wonder-
ful person and we had some great
times with her and also your father.
I will never forget how great they were to my son Michael when he was
so sick. They made him a lobster
dinner to take to the hospital on the
4th of July. You are all in our thoughts and prayers during this
difficult time.

To Doris' family:
Your mom was a very special lady to all of us at Commonwealth Hematology Oncology. She shared many stories with me along the way...all of them included each one of you. As a mother myself, I was and will continue to be inspired by the legacy Doris left with each of you and your tremendous gift of all that is beautiful about a family.
With a saddened heart,
Gillian
