Eaton Elz Obituary

ROCKLAND Eaton G. Skip Elz of Rockland died Saturday, November 15th in the South Shore Hospital after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Terboss) Elz. Born and raised in Quincy, he was the son of the late George A. and Greta (Clevestrom) Elz, and a graduate of Quincy High School. He was a veteran of the US Navy serving from 1944 to 1954. He was also a member of the Aleppo Shrine, the Princes of Jerusalem and a member of the Massachusetts Consistory. In his retirement he spent many winters in Florida and enjoyed golfing there. In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Diane Elz of Rockland, and his son Ronald Elz and his wife Cindy of Bellingham, his brother Richard Elz of Florida and his two grandsons Jason and Brandon Elz. He is also survived by several nieces. His funeral service will be held Thursday, November 20th at 10:30 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street, (Rt. 58 at the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be held at a later date. Visiting hours will be held Wednesday November 19th from 4:00-7:00PM. Dear Diane and Elizabeth,
I am very sad to learn of Skip's passing. I always enjoyed talking with him and when I picture him in my mind, I just see that great smile on his face. May his memory be a blessing in your lives.

I am so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of visiting all of you in Maine when I was young. The Elz family was always a favorite of the Tagen family and especially of my Dad. Mr. Elz will be missed. Diane Tagen Woods

Mr. Elz,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the USN during WW II and the Korean War and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Rest in Peace, Uncle Skip. Lots of memories for me to keep of you, such as the Skowhegen fair in Maine... I think you and I were the only ones who wanted to go every year! Spending Christmases at your house in Rockland. We always looked forward to that and Aunt Betty's swedish meatballs! We may not have seen eachother the past few years, but I enjoyed our conversations and you will remain in my heart forever! My thoughts and prayers also go out to Aunt Betty, Diane, Ronny and Cindy and the boys.
