Dr. Robert E. Clancy

BRAINTREE Dr. Robert E. Clancy, age 82, died on Friday November 21, 2008. Dr. Clancy was born and raised in Weymouth and lived in Braintree for many years before moving to West Yarmouth 20 years ago. Dr. Clancy graduated from Boston College and Tufts University Medical School in Medford. Dr. Clancy served in the Navy during the Korean War. He practised internal medicine and cardiology at the Carney Hospital in Dorchester. During his tenure at Carney Hospital, he served as the director of medical education, and as a clinical Professor, he taught and mentored physicians in training. Dr. Clancy's private practice was located in Braintree. He was also affiliated with the Harvard University School of Public Health where he participated in many research projects. Beloved husband of Jacqueline B. (Fitzgerald) Clancy. Devoted father of Anne Louise Clancy of Brighton, Susan M. Kiely and her husband Barry of Hingham, and Dr. Cynthia H. Clancy and her husband Thomas Warren of Scotch Plains, N.J. Beloved brother of the late Dr. Daniel H. Clancy, the late John Clancy and the late William Clancy. Loving grandfather of Brian, Stephen and Kevin Kiely and Peter and Caroline Warren. Funeral from the Clancy-Lucid Funeral Home,100 Washington St. Weymouth Landing on Tuesday November 25 at 10 Am. Funeral Mass in the Sacred heart Church, Weymouth at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
