To Blanche's family,
I remember hearing Lorne tell of the days of old and how Blanche would sometimes roll her eyes as she knew his memory was getting foggy on things. Most of all, I remember her wonderful spirit. Never heard her complain and always had her keen sense of humor. A great women she was and will surely be missed.

Many fond memories of Blanche as I was growing up, spending MANY weekends at her house. She truly was a treasured friend. Always a smile and encouraging word. She will be missed. Much love, Lynne

Dear Robert, Lawrence, Marion and Virginia, and all of Blanche's family,

We have such brilliant memories of your wonderful Mum. A blissful summer living in Scituate with Blanche in 1994 was the start of our friendship, and since then many laughter-filled visits (was it 7 trips, all since she was 80?) by Blanche to Ireland, and a lovely weekend together at the apartment in Marshfield while I was on a business trip just a few years ago. In between, catch-up phonecalls across the Atlantic from time to time.

Blanche used to keep a deck-chair in her car so that she could sit on the beach at opportune moments, I can still picture her sitting at the shore in Scituate.

She used to get fresh corn in season from a farm nearby and taught us to strip the cobs, cook and eat it within a few hours of picking - this was a first for us Irish girls :)

She introduced me to Marshalls. She showed me how fresh strawberries make a great face-mask (mashed right into the skin :)

She spent a week when I bought my first house in Navan, Co.Meath, and I took her to Tara to see where the seat of the great Kings of Ireland was.

She approved of my choice of husband :)

We really loved her, and miss her. Thinking of you today as you lay Blanche to rest in Meetinghouse Lane.

We enjoyed our visits with Blanche after meetings and at convention. She had a lively sense of humor and twinkling eyes. She remembered things going way back in our family. That was special to us. She was a good example to us. We will miss her.

In Loving Memory of Blanche

In the lovely summer of 94, Lynn and I left these Irish shores and arrived in Boston one fine day and not before needed a place to stay.

It was in a meeting later that week, that Blanche a dear old lady we did meet, Because of her kind offer we no further did roam as she rented us her attic and welcomed us into her home.

It was a summer that I’ll always remember, of Blanche’s blueberry pancakes and of trips to the Vineyard, of her playing on the piano the “Blue Danube” and the sound of the crickets in the nearby wood.

It was there in her home on Meetinghouse Lane that a life long friendship we did gain, and when it was time for us to go, our dear friend Blanche we had well got to know.

Her loving kindness we wanted to repay, so we insisted she come to Ireland for holidays.
So in the summer of 98, Blanche booked her ticket and got on the plane,
Ever since then every second year, Blanche in Shannon airport would appear.

Her friendly ways touched all she did meet and today we share in your loss and grief
But we are comforted she’s at rest in the presence of her Saviour who she loved best.

Those of us here on Irish soil will miss her dearly especially her smile, but we are thankful that Blanche we got to know and will cherish the memories wherever we go.

Blanche we will miss you so much, Thank you for the loving memories, our thoughts are with your family at this time.
Hazel, Alex, Benjamin and David Kingston.
