Charles DeCoste Obituary

Charles R. DeCoste NORWELL Mr. Charles R. DeCoste, 75 of Norwell and Dennis died Friday, November 21, 2008 at the West Roxbury VA Medical Center. Son of the late David F. and Jean (McGrath) DeCoste, he was born in Quincy on May 31, 1933. He was raised and educated in Quincy and has lived in Norwell for 42 years and spent time in Dennis for 20 years. Mr. DeCoste served in the Airborne Infantry during the Korean War and later was an instructor at West Point. He was Co-Owner of Presidential Construction and Owner of DeCoste Group. He was a founding member of Adams Heights Mens Club in Quincy, an avid gardener, enjoyed fishing, boating and playing cards and was a softball catcher for many years for the Adams Heights Mens Club in Quincy. He is survived by his wife, MaryEllen (Cushing) DeCoste, 1 son, Major David F. DeCoste US Army of Norwell, 2 daughters, Patricia Conant and her husband, Robert of Hanson and Carolyn J. Kaslauskas of Carver, 1 brother, Daniel T. DeCoste of Quincy, 1 sister Myrtle Oberg of Quincy and 3 grandchildren, Sarah and Zachary Conant and Devin Kaslauskas. He was the brother of the late Frank DeCoste, John Jack DeCoste and Gerald Gerry DeCoste. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Helen Church 383 Washington St., Rte 53 in Norwell. Interment in Washington St. Cemetery in Norwell. Visiting hours in the Sullivan Funeral Home, 551 Washington St., Rte 53 in HANOVER on Monday from 4-8 PM.
