Margery McLaughlin Obituary

HINGHAM Margery M. (Brooks) McLaughlin, of Hingham, age 94, died November 22, 2008. Margery was the beloved wife of the late John H. McLaughlin and the devoted mother of Barbara A. Connors and her husband, the late Paul F. of Hanover, Margery B. Picot and the late Leonard A. of Quincy and Humarock, Raymond M. and his wife, Patricia of Humarock, Richard T. and his wife, Marie of Quincy, Jane M. Adamonis and her husband, Richard of Weymouth, Regina M. McLaughlin of Chicago, IL., and Paula E. Souther and her husband, Charles of Hingham, and the late John H. Jr., Philip B, and the late PFC Mark M. McLaughlin. Margery is also survived by her sister in law, Blanche Brooks of CA., and her two daughter-in-laws, Ann Wright of Braintree and Dian McLaughlin of FL. She was the sister of the late Raymond Brooks, Marie Steptoe, Richard Brooks, William Brooks, and Phillip Brooks. Margery is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 1 great great-grandchild and many loved nieces and nephews. Margery was a Gold Star Mother, a member of the Catholic Womens Club of Hingham, and a member of the Philomatheia Club, Boston College, Class of 1933. Margery was also a member of the International Egg Art Guild, as well as an artist and teacher. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 11 am in the Resurrection of Lord Church, Main St., Hingham. Visiting hours Tuesday 3:30-8 pm at McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, 1 Summer St. (across from St. Anthonys Church), Cohasset. Interment Old Calvary Cemetery, Roslindale. In lieu of flowers, donations in Margerys memory may be made to the Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Dr., Braintree, MA. 02184.
