Catherine M. O'Rourke

QUINCY Catherine M. "Cathy" O'Rourke of Quincy, formerly of Braintree, November 27, 2008. Cathy was born in Quincy and died at Boston Medical Center on Thursday at the age of 46. Cathy grew up in Braintree and graduated from Braintree High School and then Newbury College in Boston. Cathy worked as a receptionist at the Boston V.A. Hospital outpatient clinic for the past year. Cathy also worked part time as a professional barber at her fathers shop in Braintree. She also worked as a receptionist for Northeastern University for 15 years. Cathy was active in her parish of St. Anns Church in Quincy for many years as a member of the choir and as a Eucharistic Minister bringing the Eucharist to the sick at area Boston hospitals. In her spare time, Cathy enjoyed walks along the beach and helping others. She is the beloved daughter of John A. and Margaret M. Peg (Dalzell) ORourke of Braintree. Devoted sister of James F. ORourke and John P. ORourke both of Randolph. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree, until 10:15 AM on Tuesday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Tuesday morning from 8:00 10:00 AM. Burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Randolph.
