Lena Sheridan Obituary

Lena Sheridan HINGHAM Lena (Caverzashi) Sheridan 95, of Hingham, formerly of Montpelier, VT died on Saturday, November 29, 2008 peacefully at home surrounded by family. She was born in Montpelier, daughter of the late Peter and Carmela (Bernasconi) Caverzasi. She was a graduate of Montpelier High School, class of 1931 and had been employed for 39 years by the New Hampshire Insurance Co. She was the wife of the late William F. Sheridan. She is survived by her son and daughter- in- law James and Adele Sheridan of Hingham; a grandson, Michael of San Francisco; a nephew, Peter Caverzasi of New York and 3 grand-nieces, In Vermont, Mrs. Sheridan was an active member of St. Augustine Church in Montpelier. Her memberships included; The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Confraternity of the Holy Rosary, Ladies of the Knights of Columbus, Church Women United, Montpelier Senior Citizens, RSVP and for many years did volunteer work for the Meals on Wheels Program. In 1995, she moved to Hingham where she became involved with the Hingham Senior Citizens and the Hingham Women's Club. She also was a member of the OPALS (Older Peoples Active Life Style), a local choral group. Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. The interment will be in Vermont.
