Ruth D. Garvey

BRAINTREE Ruth D. (Marchitelli) Garvey, of Braintree, died unexpectedly Monday, December 1, at South Shore hospital, Weymouth. She was 64 years old. Born and raised in Quincy, she was a graduate of Woodward School and Northeastern University as an x-ray technician. She worked for Quincy Hospital for over ten years before leaving to raise her family. Mrs. Garvey was a member of the Weymouth Tennis Club, summered in South Yarmouth for over 25 years and was the constant companion of her grandson Jack. Beloved wife of Jack Garvey. Loving mother of John and his wife Andrea Garvey and Christopher Garvey, all of Braintree. Loving Nannie to Jack Garvey. Sister of Carol and her husband Bob Dunphy of Hingham and Gerald and his wife Denise Marchitelli of South Yarmouth. Ruth is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 856 Washington St., Braintree, Friday, December 5 at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends invited.
