Helen Lally Obituary

CANTON Helen L. (Smith) Lally, of Canton, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the Caritas Norwood Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 87. Born on June 30, 1921 in Brockton, the daughter of the late Arthur and Elsie (Whynott) Lally, she had been a Canton resident for over 50 years. Mrs. Lally was an independent microfilmer of medical records and invoices; working with various hospitals, pharmaceutical companies and drug stores. She was a past president of the Pleasant Circle Improvement Association. She was the wife of the late John J. Lally, Sr. and sister of the late Richard and Russell Smith, Hazel Giagrando, Eleanor Ruggerio and Dorothy Hickey. Mrs. Lally is survived by her daughter, Carol and her husband, Paul Powers of Canton, her sons, John, Jr. and his wife, Diane Terri Lally of Pembroke, Robert F. and his wife, Frances Lally of East Taunton, Arthur F. Lally of Pembroke and William T. Lally of Foxboro and her sister, Norma Campbell of Canton. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. from the Roache Pushard Family Home for Funerals, 210 Sherman Street, Canton, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Saint John the Evangelist Church, Canton, at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home Friday from 4-8 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the American Diabetes Associati on, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.

"Auntie Helen"
So many memories of Easter Egg hunts at your house on Pleasant Cr. and fun at Normandy Farm. My last picture of Scott was taken at Normandy Farms and I will treasure it and memories of you. Thank you for being such a wonderful friend to Mom...She will miss you!
