Joyce Wilson Obituary

HINGHAM Joyce (Rice) Wilson, 71, a Hingham resident since 1961, died on Wednesday, December 3rd at her home after a long illness. She was born in Somerville and spent her early life in Wellesley where she graduated from Wellesley High School. She then graduated from Framingham State College and went on to teach in the Ashland and Norwell Public School systems. In more recent years, she taught at the Wilder Memorial Nursery School in Hingham. Mrs. Wilson, also was an active member of the Weymouth United Methodist Church. She leaves her husband, William Wallace Wilson of Hingham; her daughter, Susan L. Lord and her husband Daniel of Herndon, VA; her son, Steven William Wilson of Princeton, MA; and her two granddaughters, Jennifer and Christine Lord of Herndon, VA. She was the daughter of Gladys L. (Southern) Rice of Hingham and the late Harold F. Rice, Jr. Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. A Memorial Service will be conducted on Monday, December 8th at 11 a.m. at the Weymouth United Methodist Church, 747 Broad St., East Weymouth. The interment is to be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Norwell VNA / Hospice, 99 Longwater Circle, Norwell, MA 02061.
