Michael DelLongo Obituary

CANTON Michael B. DelLongo, of Canton, formerly of Quincy, died Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at the Cedar Hill Healthcare Center in Randolph. He was 87. Mr. DelLongo was the beloved husband of the late Marjorie (Palmer) DelLongo. Born in Quincy on June 17, 1921, Mr. DelLongo was the son of the late Faustino and Teresa (Carullo) DelLongo. He graduated from Quincy High School in 1938 and served for the US Navy and US Coast Guard during WWII. Mr. DelLongo was employed by General Dynamics at the Fore River Shipyard in Quincy and also worked for the Brewster Wallpaper Co., of Boston and Canton. He is lovingly remembered by his family for his wonderful singing voice and his love of dancing. Mr. DelLongo was also an animal lover who was particularly fond of cats. Mr. DelLongo is survived by his sisters, Janet Baldassini of Braintree, Lorraine Lecomte and Dorothy McDonough of Wilmington and by many nieces and nephews. He is also the brother of the late Emma Cavallo, Ada Belisle, Angie Cingolani, Charles DelLongo and Rena Strickland. Funeral Services and burial will be private. Arrangements are through the Bolea-Buonfiglio Funeral Home, 116 Franklin St., Quincy.
