Dorothy Donovan Obituary

DORCHESTER Dorothy L. (Rooney) Donovan of Dorchester, December 5, 2008. The beloved wife of 65 years of John Donovan. Loving mother of Jack Donovan and his wife Helen of Quincy. Maureen Bono and her husband Louie of Saugus, Dorothy Connolly and her husband Jay of Hanover, Anne Marie Keenan and her husband Jack of Hanover and the late Robert Donovan. Sister of Paul Rooney of Quincy, Thomas Rooney of Carver and the late Robert, James & William Rooney. Dorothy is also survived by 4 grandsons, 4 granddaughters and 2 great-grandchildren. Dorothy was a life long resident of Dorchester. A former member of the K Club in Dorchester. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards. In early years she enjoyed shopping with her daughters. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be sadly missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St. Quincy, Wednesday at 10am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, Neponset Wednesday at 11am. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8pm. Burial in Hanover Center Cemetery.
