John Champa Obituary

RANDOLPH John L., of Randolph, after a brief illness, December 5, 2008. Beloved husband of Catherine Kay (Dangoia) Champa. Loving father of Marie Ryan and her husband Paul Lantieri of Norwood and Lucy Coughlin and her husband Charles Dickie of Canton. Devoted brother of Margaret Foley of Randolph and the late Catherine Christian, Mary McNeil, Dorothy Kaseta, Mildred Fate, William Champa and Richard Champa. Dear grandfather of Sean Coughlin and his wife Lauren of New York City and Erin Coughlin of Canton. Great grandfather of Kyra Coughlin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 419 No. Main Street, (Rte 28), Randolph, until 8:15 AM on Wednesday followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 AM in St. Bernadette Church, Randolph. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made in Johns name to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. John was born in Medford and died at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday at the age 83. John graduated from Boston Technical School. A U.S. Army Veteran, he served in WWII. For over 30 years, John was the owner of the North Randolph Cleaners, he retired in 1983. John was a member of the Randolph ELKS and the Randolph VFW. Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
