Mr. Kelly was an overall great man and will be deeply missed. He lighted up the room every time he entered every room. I will never forget the great stories from the WWII era and the great report he helped me write on himself for my 7th grade English class on the veterans of WWII. As a service member myself I understand what he described to me back when I was in the 7th grade. He will be missed dearly and never forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Mr. Kelly,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USN in the Pacific during WW II as a crewman aboard the Tank Landing Ship 712 which saw action at Luzon and Okinawa. The men who served in the LSTs were some of the unsung heroes of the War-they participated in every major amphibious operation in both Europe and the Pacific from 1943 through to VJ-Day in 1945 and were able to deliver artillery, armored vehicles and other heavy equipment right up to the beach to get into the fight quickly. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
