Mary Bekerian Obituary

Mary E. Bekerian BRAINTREE Mary E. Joyce (Doucette) Bekerian, of Braintree, formerly of Holbrook and Dorchester, passed away December 12, 2008 at age 80. Wife of the late Leon J. Bekerian. Loving mother of Robert Bekerian and his wife Rebecca of Weymouth, Richard Bekerian and his wife Linda of Weymouth, Robyn Pforr and her husband Melvin of Weymouth and Kathryn Kelley and husband Brian of Weymouth. Daughter of the late Anthony and Gertrude Doucette. Devoted sister of Arthur Doucette and Marion Killian both of Fl, Alvina OBrien of Middleboro, the late Charles Doucette, Frances Fischer and Barbara Runey. Also survived by her grandchildren Nicole, Ricky, Alex, Steven, Rachel, Jake, Kevin, Evan, Adam, Alanna and Dylan. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington Street, Braintree until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Braintree. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Mary was born in Nova Scotia Canada. She was a retired secretary for Serene and Foley. She was member of the Womens Sodality, and Opus Dei. She was active in Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed cooking, entertaining and sewing . Should friends desire memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472. or to Hospice of the South Shore, 100 Bay State Drive, Braintree, MA. Dear Robyn, Kathy,Bob and Richard, My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to all of you and your families, We at Sunrise loved your Mom very much and are saddened by the loss of such a beautiful elegant lady both inside and out. Watching your family at Mass this morning , it is evident that Joyce will live forever through you. You have been her rock through trying times and that is something each and everyone of you should be so very proud of.

I was unaware when I saw you yesterday of your Mother/Mother-in-Law's passing. I was very sorry to hear this news. I know from speaking to Kathy a few times she had been ill for a while, but the loss of a parent is hard. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time.
