Norman Chaput Obituary

Norman P. Chaput NORTH QUINCY Norman P. Chaput, of North Quincy, suddenly on December 12, 2008. The beloved husband of the late Mary T. (Goeppner). Devoted father of Paul M . Chaput and his wife Donna of North Quincy, Richard W. Chaput and his wife Betty of Franklin, James R. Chaput of North Quincy, Mary Ellen Murphy of Quincy, Kathleen A. Chaput of Quincy and Teresa L. and her husband Randy Bither of Quincy. Brother of Richard Chaput of CA, William Chaput of NH and the late Robert Chaput. Cherished grandfather of Nicole, Christopher, Kristen, Michael, Mary, Eric, Dean, Jessica and Christina. Norman is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and fishing buddies. Norman was raised in South Boston and moved to Quincy in 1959. A proud graduate of Boston College High School Class of 1948. He worked as an electronic technician for more than 60 years. Norman enjoyed fishing, acrylic painting, woodworking, cooking and gardening. He also enjoyed stamp and coin collecting, but above all Norman enjoyed being surrounded by his family. A devoted father, grandfather and friend he will be sadly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Life Celebration Service in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St, Thursday at 9:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Mr. Chaput was just like a grandfather to me and my younger brother. I remember his wonderful garden in his back yard. I will always cherish the wonderful painting that is hanging in my living room that he painted. He was a loving and caring man, and I will miss him and his delicious fudge he'd make for my mother and me at Christmas time. What a great man he was. My love to his entire (my extended) family.

To all of our Quincy cousins-
We are so sorry for your loss. Uncle Bud was such a devoted family man and loved talking about his grandchildren. After admiring his many paintings that cover your dining room, I received several hand painted ornaments in the mail of his favorite lighthouses - so thoughtful. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
