Harold Bonney Obituary

Harold F. Bonney EAST BRIDGEWATER Harold F. Bonney of East Bridgewater and formerly of Brockton, died peacefully while surrounded by his two loving daughters on June 17, 2009. He was 85. Harold was born in Brockton and attended St. Patrick's School and was a graduate of Brockton High School. After school he joined the U.S. NAVY and served in World War II. After the war he married the late Elizabeth (Clark) and they lived in Brockton. They were married for over 61 years. They raised their children in Brockton before moving to East Bridgewater 25 years ago. Harold was the owner of Bonney Television of Brockton for 24 years before becoming the Brockton Veteran's Agent from which he retired after 20 years. Harold loved his family, friends, and neighbors and would always have a smile and would do anything for anyone. Harold was the son of the late Margaret and Frank Bonney. He was the devoted husband of the late Elizabeth K. (Clark) Bonney. Loving father of Virginia O'Connor Walker and her husband Lyle of VA and Kathy Hanifan and her husband Timothy of Weymouth. Proud grandfather of Sean, Scott, Ryan, Michele, and Tammy. Great-grandfather of Bryan, Thierry-Michel, and the late Timothy. Brother of Rena Malloy of Sandwich and the late Edward Bonney. Also survived by his special niece Maureen Asker of Brockton, his wonderful neighbors and friends Michael and Tricia Herbert of East Bridgewater, and many other nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral from the Prophett-Chapman, Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater on Friday, June 19th at 9:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann's Church, West Bridgewater. Sorry to hear about the passing of Harold. Harold was one of the most compassionate persons I ever had the pleasue of knowing and working with. He always had a good word for everyone he came into contact with. Harold as the Veteran's Agent in the City was without a doubt the most thoughtful Agent the City has had, Alway willing and able to help out our Veterans.
