Doris Rivard Obituary

BRAINTREE Doris M. (Hartley) Rivard, 74, of Braintree, died August 20, 2009 at her home. Beloved wife of the late Jean Rivard, to whom she was married for 38 years. Loving mother of John and his wife Susan of Mansfield and Stephen and his wife Charlene of GA. Sister of John of Holbrook, James of Bridgewater, Kenneth of CA, Mary L. Whalen of Bourne and the late Harold, Donald, Janet Tripp and Eileen Hartley. Dear grandmother of Nicholas, William and Jack. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Doris was born and raised in Dorchester and had lived in Braintree for the past 43 years. She had worked as a sales clerk for Talbots in Hingham, was a member of St. Clare's Bowling League and did volunteer work for disabled children. Funeral from the McMaster Funeral Home, 86 Franklin St. (Rt. 37), Braintree, Monday, August 24 at 8:15 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, S. Braintree Square at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit the funeral home Sunday, 4-7 p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the American Heart Assoc., 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
