James Brady Obituary

MILTON James J. Brady, Sr., age 93, of Milton, passed away peacefully, with his wife at his side, at Milton Hospital on Thursday, Aug. 20. Born, raised and educated in Brooklyn, NY, he had lived in Jamaica Plain before his move to Milton 29 years ago. A retired Diesel Mechanic of the Metropolitan District Commission at Deer Island, Mr. Brady was also a retired Navy Veteran of WW II and the Korean War. Among other assignments during his 20 years of Naval service, he served aboard the U.S.S. Aucilla & the U.S.S. Hyman. The beloved husband of Virginia F. (Gannon) Brady of Milton, he was the devoted father of James J. Brady, Jr. & his wife Maria of Hingham, the loving grandfather of James T. & Kevin G. Brady, and the brother of Helen McMahon of FL & Lorraine Fortunato of NY, and the late Beatrice Parks & Ann Sweeney. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Hills Church, Milton, Mon. at 10 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, Sunday 2 to 6 PM.
