Gertrude Gately Obituary

Gertrude A. Gately CANTON Gately, Gertrude A., age 81, formerly of Hyde Park, passed away October 17th at the Milton Hospital. Born and raised in Medford, she graduated from Medford High School. She worked at the Mattapan Chronic Disease Hospital as a secretary for many years before retiring. Beloved wife of the late David E. Mother of Jean M. McAloon and her husband Jim of N. Andover, Mary Ann Picozzi and her husband Greg and Nancy E. Feeney and her husband Michael, all of Canton and Thomas J. Gately and his wife Elaine of Walpole. Grandmother of Erin, T. J. and Marybeth McAloon, Tara, Gregory and Joseph Picozzi, Christopher, Matthew and David Feeney, Kasey and Jack Gately. Sister of Irene Courtenay of Wakefield, Major Ronald Beaton USAF of SC, Bernard Beaton of Brockton and the late Sister M. Geneveiva CSJ, John Beaton and Patricia Morrison. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington St., Canton, Sunday 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Gerard Majella Church, Canton, Monday morning at 11 a.m. Interment St. Josephs Cemetery, W. Roxbury. Donations may be made in her memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Association, 20 Walnut St., Wellesley, MA 02481.
