Edward St.Andre Obituary

Edward A. St.Andre Braintree St.Andre, Edward A., age 85 of Braintree, died suddenly Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Quincy Medical Center. He was born in Boston, raised and educated in Braintree schools and was a graduate of Braintree High School, Class of 1939. He has lived in Braintree all his life. During World War II he served in the U.S. Maritime Service. He was a radio officer having graduated from the Gallops Island Radio Training School in Boston. Mr. St.Andre was a testman for the AT & T Company for thirty-nine years. He retired in 1986. He as a member of the Granite City Stamp Club. Mr. St.Andre was one of the original founding parishoners of Saint Thomas More Parish in Braintree. He was a longtime usher and active member of the church. Beloved husband for fifty-eight years of Dora S. "Dolly" (Lane) St.Andre. Devoted father of Marianne A. St.Andre and her husband Howard Kanegsberg of Agawam. He was also father of the late Edward St.Andre and the late Jean Marie St.Andre. Loving grandfather of Jason Penney of Nashua, NH. Brother of George St.Andre of Braintree, Arthur St.Andre of FL and Guy St.Andre of Braintree. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Tuesday, October 23 at 8:15 a.m. Funeral Mass in St. Thomas More Church, corner of Hawthorn Rd. & Elm St,. Braintree at 9 o'clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday, 5-8 p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. For those who wish, donations in Mr. St.Andre's memory may be made to the Christian Appalachian Project, 322 Crab Orchard St., Lancaster, KY 40446-0001.
