William Hurley Obituary

William J. Hurley Florida William J. "Bill" Hurley, of Lady Lake, Florida formerly of Quincy and Rockland died October 28 at the age of 85 at the Milton Health Care Center. Mr. Hurley is survived by his four children: Donna Hurley of S. Weymouth, Catherine Carlow of S. Weymouth, Doreen Wholey and Brian Hurley both of Hull as well as 8 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bill was the beloved son of the late Michael and Elsie Hurley, brother of Phyllis Belben of S. Weymouth and the late Charles Hurley, Elsie DiBella and Eleanor Brady. A Native of Boston, MA he has spent over the past 20 years in Lady Lake, Florida. Mr. Hurley was employed by H.P. Hood and Sons as well as the Braintree Schools. Bill was a World War II veteran who served as a Corporal in the Army Air Force. A former Commander of Post 95 in Quincy, MA, Bill was also an active member of the American Legion in Lady Lake, FL as well as the Weymouth Elks. His Loyalty to the Red Sox and Patriots never wavered. Bill was a trained singer who shared his gift of song with everyone who crossed his path. His quick wit and ever present smile was a source of joy and encouragement to all who knew him. "Live life; don't let life live you" philosophy will live on in his family and friends. A private Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday October 31 at 10 A.M. at the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) South Weymouth. Donations may be made in Bill's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave. 6th Floor, New York, NY 10001.. Mr. Hurley,
Sir, I didn't know but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army Air Forces during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
