Arthur Erickson Obituary

Arthur A. Erickson QUINCY Arthur A. Erickson, age 82, in Dunedin, FL, formerly of Quincy, died Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Edinborough Healthcare Center in Dunedin, FL. He was born in Norwood, raised and educated in Norwood schools. He left high school in 1942 to join the U.S. Navy. He served in World War II in both the European African Middle Eastern and Asiatic Pacific Theaters. He earned the World War II Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Medal with three Bronze Stars and the Philippine Liberation Medal with one Bronze Star. He served on the USS Kephart. After the war, Mr. Erickson returned to graduate from Norwood High School and Northeastern University, Class of 1954. He has lived in Dunedin, FL for the past year, over fifty years in Quincy, and previously in Norwood. Mr. Erickson was a mechanical engineer for 45 years. He was the co-owner of the R.E. Erickson Company of Boston, now located in Walpole. He retired in 2000. He was a former member of the V.F.W. Husband of the late Mary C. (Mulkern) Erickson. Father of Arthur J. (Joe) Erickson and his wife Sandra of Dunedin, FL; Kenneth R. Erickson and his companion Pamela of Weymouth; and Marcia A. Clark and her husband David of Brockton. Also survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Brother of Robert E. Erickson of Falmouth, Joan Anderson of Norwood, and the late Martha Anderson. Funeral Services will be conducted at the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Ave, Quincy, Saturday, November 17th at 11 AM. Reverend Robert Killeffer, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Braintree, will officiate. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday, 2-4 and 7-9 PM.

Arthur spent many hours visiting us on our deck . in Skye Loch Villas He would stop and visit when passing . We will miss him .He is happy now with Mary. He missed her so much.

Mr. Erickson,
Sir, I didn't know you but I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Navy during WW II and for being a member of the Greatest Generation. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
