George Whitney Obituary

George F. Whitney Stoughton George F. Whitney, 48, a longtime resident of Stougton, died Wednesday, November 14, 2007 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the loving husband of Ann (Fagan) Whitney. Born in Boston, he was raised in Dorchester and a graduate of Boston Schools. George worked as a self employed painter in the Stoughton area for many years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Stoughton. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, playing pool and spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Julianne Foley of Dorchester, Amanda, George and Anthony Whitney all of Ayer. He is the son of George F. Whitney of Holbrook and the late Dolores M. Chickie (Raymond) Winters and her husband Donald J. Winters, Sr. of Dorchester. George leaves his siblings Maria Bellino and her husband Joe of Braintree, Carol Whitney of Plymouth, Donna Massucco, Denise Fraser and Donald Winters Jr. all of Dorchester He was predeceased by his brother, Daniel P. Whitney. He is also survived by his grandchildren Timothy Foley and Jada Whitney and many nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held from the Farley Funeral Home, 358 Park St. (Rt. 27) Stoughton on Saturday at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Immaculate Conception Church at 11 AM. Visiting Hours Friday 5-8 PM. Donations in Georges memory may be made to Make A Wish, 1 Bulfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, 02114. My deepest condolences to the and friends of George, especially Carol Ann and Annie. I can't begin to imagine the pain you must be feeling losing such a great husband and father. I regret not being at the services to say goodbye. Please know I will be praying for George and the entire family. George was a great man and will be missed terribly by all that knew and loved him
