Phyllis Morse Obituary

Phyllis G. Morse Quincy Phyllis G. (Ellis) Morse of Quincy, died at the Pope Nursing Home in Weymouth on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at age 82. Born in Weymouth, where she was raised and educated, she lived there until 1951 when she moved to Quincy. A graduate of Weymouth High, she went on to receive an Associates Degree from the Secretarial School at BU and worked as medical secretary to Dr. Leonard Bornstein for many years. She was also active in the Snug Harbor PTA serving as president, was the Grand Worthy Advisor for the State of Massachuesetts Rainbow, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Gull Point Yacht Club in Germantown. The beloved wife of Earl P. Morse, Phyllis is also lovingly survived by her children Jean Morse Jones of Hingham, Joan Drelles of NJ, Earl G. Morse of Quincy, Phyllis Kurz of CT and Elizabeth Witkowski of ME, as well as 11 dear grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Marjorie Ellis of Weymouth and Jean Griffith of SC. Her funeral will be from the Dennis Sweeney Funeral Home, 74 Elm St. at 9 a.m. A funeral service will be held in Bethany Congregational Church at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Sunday, from 4-8 p.m. Burial is in Mount Wollaston Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis' memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 03472-2782. Our deepest sympathies to all of you on the loss of Phyllis. She was a lovely lady with a beautiful smile. It was very clear to all of us how much she was loved and cherished by all her family. It was our pleasure and privledge to have cared for her and to know all of you.
