Geraldine R. Babcock Vermont Geraldine E. (Rossier) Babcock, Montgomery Center, VT, 94, died on November 20, 2007, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Montgomery Center, VT, daughter of the late Harold and Beatrice (Shangraw) Rossier and was raised and educated in Montgomery Center, VT and at The Academy (high school), associated with Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) in Wollaston. Geraldine made her home in Wollaston for over 60 years, serving as an active member of The Wollaston Church of the Nazarene and volunteer for many ENC committees and events. She also worked at ENCs Dugout snack bar and as an Assistant Teacher for St. Chrysostoms Episcopal Churchs Daycare Center in Wollaston. Over the years she spent her time between her homes in Wollaston, Wilmington, NY and Montgomery Center, VT, having returned to Vermont for the past four years. Wife of the late Dr. Wm. J. Verner Babcock, Professor Emeritus and Chairman of Biology at ENC, she is survived by a son, The Reverend Harold R. M. Babcock and daughter-in-law Carolyn Babcock of Montgomery, VT; a daughter, Constance (Babcock) Lineman and son-in-law Ronald S. Lineman of Quincy, MA; a daughter Mildred (Babcock) Felci and son-in-law James A. Felci of Weymouth, MA; and a son Merrill Babcock and daughter-in-law Lelar Babcock of TN; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Edith (Rossier) Devine, the late Hazel Rossier, the late Emile Rossier and the late Ruth (Rossier) Fedora. There will be a Memorial Service on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at 11 a.m. at The Wollaston Church of the Nazarene, 37 E. Elm Ave., Wollaston, MA. Internment at Blue Hill Cemetery will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to The Geraldine Babcock Memorial Fund, c/o Cheryl (Babcock/Lineman) Lee, 199 Elmwood Ave., Wollaston, MA 02170.
