Cassie Stafford-Scott Obituary
Cassie lived at the Golden Living Center, Smithville, Mo., for two years before her death.
Cassie was born April 27, 1915, in Hannah, Okla.
She worked at Wesley Center as a cook, and was a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 359 Auxiliary and Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Cassie married James W. Stafford on March 27, 1940, at Dearborn, Mo. He preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1970.
Then she married George Scott on March 9, 1975, at St. Joseph. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2003.
Cassie also was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie W. and Effie (Landis) Blankenship; and a sister, Nora May Seckel.
Survivors: sons, Charles J. and Bruce O. Stafford, both of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Della M. Townsend, St. Joseph; five grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of Life: 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Gladden-Stamey Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Interment: Dearborn, Mo., Cemetery. Public viewing and family receiving: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association.
