Edith Lorenz Obituary

LORENZ, Edith C.
Age 90, of Sunny Ridge Drive, Davenport, FL, formerly of Wellsboro, PA, died July 8, 2008 at her home. She was the wife of Edward E. Lorenz, who died September 22, 1984. Edith was born August 29, 1917 in Delmar Township, Wellsboro, PA, the daughter of the late Oscar and Edith McInroy Hamm. She was former cook and pie baker at the Wellsboro Diner for 25 years. Edith was a member of the First Baptist Church, Haines City, FL, was a song lyric writer and had four records published. She came in second in the contest for the Laurel Festival theme song. Surviving are son, Larry E. (Hingus) Lorenz of Honduras; daughters, Shirley R. (Leo) Payne, Binghamton, NY, and Marlene D. Lorenz, with whom she lived; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Friends and family are invited to Edith's Life Celebration on Saturday, July 12, 2008, from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, a "Life Celebration Home", 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA. Funeral Service on Sunday, July 13, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home, with Allen Scranton officiating. Burial in Tioga County Memorial Gardens. If desired, memorials may be made to Marlene Lorenz to help with the funeral expenses.
