Barb and the Lewis family
We feel blessed to have known Bob. He was a true friend. You never had to ask for help, he always anticipated your needs and was a step ahead of you. Bob loved his Country, his service with the Marines and his work with the NYSP. He loved having Barbara at his side and they shared some wonderful times as he was always "young at heart".They were also there for each other during the scary times. He was so very proud of his children and grandchildren. After attending his funeral, and meeting them, I understand why. Keep the good times close to your heart and know that he is in a better place.
Our condolences and love go out to all of you.

Barb, Rob and the rest of the family,
I was deeply saddened to hear about his passing away. I always just knew him as Mr.Lewis, out of respect. He was such a wonderful man. I first met him when my mother in law (Alberta Watkins Brill) lived next door to him at BroadWood Manor. He now joins my mother in law in heaven and I'm sure they will have a few laughs together. What wonderful memories I have! He offered to deliver my daughter if there was a snowstorm and I went into labor. He said he'd done it before. Being 19 and very young and scared, I was grateful I never had to put his knowledge to the test. He was such an awesome man and I consider myself priviledged to have known him and I will truly miss his terrific smile and sense of humor. Peace and happy memories to the family!

I had the opportunity to work with "Lew" during my assignment in Chemung County as a NYS Conservation Officer ("71-'76). Bob Lewis personified what a State Trooper was all about. Proud to be part of the organization and dedicated to getting the job done.
During my tenure in Chemung Co I worked many patrols with Lew and he was a great partner who was always enthusiastic about the job. Those were the most memorable years in my 35 yr career in Chemung Valley.
Antoinette and I offer our deepest sympathy to the Lewis family and will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. To "Lew", "blessed are the peace makers for they shall inherit the earth" Semper Fi! - until we meet again.

Barb & family, I'm so sorry for your loss, My father Maynard knew & respected Bobby for many years, He would tell me some incredible stories about him and his police work with SP Horseheads. Then I became a young rookie police officer at HPD, and I actually got to work with Bobby on a couple of occassions, I immediately knew why my father held him in such high regard. Bobby enjoyed " Locking up bad Guys" and he did it well. Sincerely

Please accept my deepest sympathy for the passing of one of the best friends anyone could ever have. Bob and I went to school together and were in the same classes and activities. He entertained all of us on a daily basis with his quick wit and fast responses! Nothing ever got by him!!!! Yet, he was as loyal a friend as anyone could ever have. We had lost touch through the years, but his passing has touched me deeply. Memories live on and stay alive by sharing them with others. Please know that there are many who will grieve with you over the loss of this great guy!

My sympathies and prayers to you, the family of Bob Lewis.
"Lew" was a shining example of professionalism in law enforcement and was a mentor to this Town of Southport Police Officer for many years. Being one of the first Troopers to be assigned to the SP Wellsburg Satellite Station, Lew and I got to know each other very well. He was always there when called upon for help or advise. He would often call or stop by and ask if he could "help with anything". Lew was a joy to work with or just talk to. Lew had proven to me that there are in fact Guardian Angels among us. Rest in Peace my friend . "3254"

Dear Barb and to all Bob's Family and Friends,

I am deeply saddened to hear of Bob's passing. I remember as a new trooper looking up to 'Lew' when he served as a BCI investigator. I remember him with utmost respect as a dedicated, dynamic, top-notch and extremely passionate member of the State Police. He took his job seriously but was at the same time known by everyone for his great sense of humor, big grin, affable laugh and spark. I feel fortunate to have worked with Bob both during his years 'on the job' before his retirement, as well as after, when he offered his support, services and friendship during his years as investigator with the DA's office. Bob was a friend to many. He was always willing to offer words of good advice as well as encouragement both on a professional or friendship basis. Through the years I enjoyed hearing Barb share stories with me at the station on how she and Bob anticipated their vacations in Florida, enjoyed sharing times with the grandchildren and welcomed their newest 'tea-cup size' addition to the family. I know you will be missed so much by Barb, your family and your many friends. You did us proud, Bob - speaking for the State Police. May you rest in peace. It was a privilege to know you.
