Barbara Twist Obituary

TWIST, Barbara F.
Age 62, of Lower Maple Ave., Elmira, NY, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Elmira. Barbara was born on April 30, 1946 in Trenton, NJ, to the late Roger and Margaret (Septak) Slocum. Barbara retired as the county clerk for the Chemung County Dept. of Social Services and was very active with the Boy Scouts. Survivors include her daughters, Lynn Twist, Paula Starkweather and Cynthia Kinner, all of Elmira; son, George Twist Jr. of Elmira; sisters, Peggie King of Campbell, NY, and Patricia Miller of Olean, NY; several grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, George C. Twist Sr. in 2003. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, July 23, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the James D. Barrett Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Interment will take place in Woodlawn National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
