Elizabeth Harper Obituary
Age 89, of Burdett, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2008, at Lakeside Nursing Home, Ithaca, NY. The family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday from 4-5 p.m. at the Royce-Chedzoy Funeral Home, 212 E. 4th St., Watkins Glen. A memorial service in her memory will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with interment immediately following at the Union Cemetery of Hector, Burdett. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Raymond) Ripa of Dundee, NY, and Kathleen (Carl) Langenfeld of Hector, NY; also eight grandchildren, Deborah (Bryant) Ward, Cynthia (Craig) Kelly, and Robert (Kelly) Ripa, also Stephanie Thibodeau (Freddy Vaught), Michael (Rebekah) LaMoreaux, Nathan LaMoreaux, Gail (Dave) Trudel, and Scott (Soli) Langenfeld; and 13 great-grandchildren, Justin (USN, Meridian, MS) and Ashley Ward, Andrew (US Army, Fort Leonard Wood, MO), KariAnn, Joshua and Jacob Kelly, and Cody Ripa, and also Samantha and Savanna Thibodeau, Emily Vaught, Ryanna and Alexandria LaMoreaux, and Cody Trudell. She was predeceased by her husband in 1994; two brothers, Pete and Harland Gilkeson; and parents, Thomas and Stella Gilkeson. Elizabeth and Bill married on December 5, 1940. She worked at Schwizer Aircraft, 1957-1982. She loved gardening, animals, and camping and fishing at Black Lake with her husband and family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Burdett Fire Department Building Fund, 3830 Main St., Burdett, NY 14818.
